Poland operates a near-total tourist-visa ban for Russian nationals and no longer accepts non-biometric Russian passports, so entry from Russia is heavily restricted.
Since 2022 Poland has applied a near-total ban on tourist visas for Russian nationals and restricts entry of Russians holding Schengen visas, in line with the suspended EU–Russia visa-facilitation rules. Poland stopped accepting Russian diplomatic and service passports for border purposes from 1 January 2026 and ordinary non-biometric Russian passports from 1 April 2026, and intends to apply the EU multiple-entry visa ban in full — issuing only single-entry humanitarian visas under narrowly defined exceptions. Holders of biometric passports in eligible categories may still apply, so this is a restriction rather than an absolute ban; re-verify the current rules with the Polish consulate before applying.
