⚠️Common Reasons Singapore EntrePass (Entrepreneur Pass) Applications Are Refused6
- !The business does not meet the innovation/venture criteria — not an eligible privately-held company, or lacking the required S$100,000 funding from a government-recognised investor, recognised incubator/accelerator backing, or qualifying IP/innovation profile.
- !The applicant does not hold at least 30% shareholding in the company, or is not a genuine founder actively running the business.
- !The business plan, funding evidence, or supporting documents are weak, unverifiable, or inconsistent, so MOM is not satisfied the venture is viable.
- !A renewal is refused because progressive milestones (business spend and local-hire targets) were not met.
- !The activity falls within a list of businesses not eligible for an EntrePass (e.g. coffee shops, food courts, bars, massage parlours, employment/geomancy agencies).
- !Misrepresentation in the application, or the applicant is inadmissible on security, criminal-record, or prior-immigration-violation grounds.
Refusal grounds are at the discretion of the deciding officer and can change. This list is informational — always verify current requirements at the official government portal.
