POLICY CHANGE (verified 2026-06-20): On 19 May 2026 the Thai cabinet resolved to cancel the 60-day visa-exemption scheme for more than 90 countries, and India was moved into the visa-on-arrival (VoA) category. Indian passport holders now require a Thailand Visa on Arrival — a maximum stay of 15 days, fee THB 2,000 (express THB 2,200), single entry, non-extendable for tourism. A Thailand Digital Arrival Card (TDAC) must be completed online before travel, and travellers may be asked to show proof of funds (THB 10,000 per person / THB 20,000 per family). Indians who need a longer stay should apply for a 60-day tourist visa (or the e-Visa) at a Thai embassy before departure. This reverses the visa-free access India had held since July 2024 — verify the current status on the Royal Thai immigration/e-Visa portal before booking, as the rule took effect on publication in the Royal Gazette.
