As of 2026, the United States has fully suspended the entry of Haiti nationals — both immigrants and non-immigrants — under a presidential proclamation, so Haiti passport holders cannot ordinarily obtain a US visa.

A US presidential proclamation effective 9 June 2025 (reaffirmed and expanded effective 1 January 2026) "fully suspends" the entry of nationals of Haiti as both immigrants and non-immigrants. This covers visitor (B-1/B-2), student (F/M), exchange (J) and work/immigrant categories alike. Narrow exceptions exist — for example lawful permanent residents of the US, dual nationals travelling on a passport of a country that is not subject to the suspension, certain immediate relatives of US citizens with documented proof, and some immigrant visas for persecuted minorities — but there is no ordinary tourist, student or work route while the suspension is in force. This is a policy measure that can change; confirm the current rules with the US Department of State before making any plans.

Because of this restriction, there is no O-1 Visa (Extraordinary Ability) application process available for Haiti passport holders. Entry rules and diplomatic relations can change — always confirm the current position with the official authorities of both countries before making any plans.
