Nepali passport holders can enter India without a visa because of an existing bilateral visa-waiver agreement or diplomatic arrangement between the two countries. This means Nepali citizens benefit from streamlined entry and do not need to apply in advance — a valid passport is sufficient at the border.

  Poor-quality uploads — a passport bio-page scan with glare, a cropped or blurred machine-readable zone (MRZ), or a photograph with shadows, wrong dimensions or a non-plain background — failing the e-Visa system’s automated verification.

  Any mismatch between the application and the passport — a single wrong character in the name order, passport number or date of birth, or using initials instead of the full given name/surname — triggers automated rejection.

  An ineligible travel document — passport not valid for at least six months from arrival with two blank pages, or a Diplomatic / Official / Refugee / temporary travel document (the e-Visa is only for ordinary passports).

  Purpose mismatch — applying for the e-Tourist visa for activities it does not permit (business, paid work, journalism, study, missionary/research work, or treatment that requires an e-Medical visa).

  Pakistani nationality, or Pakistani origin through a parent, grandparent or spouse, or birth in present-day Pakistan — such applicants must apply for a regular sticker visa, not the e-Visa; likewise an undisclosed criminal record.

  An existing valid Indian visa for the same dates, a prior overstay, or a previous deportation / blacklisting on the immigration record.
